As I reflect on the NANS 22nd Annual Meeting, the first words that come to mind are “thank you.”

Our new preconference Leadership Course at the NANS 22nd Annual Meeting was a great success with a fantastic turnout of residents, fellows, and new attending physicians in both academics and private practice eager to learn new leadership and management skills often left out of medical training.

The NANS preconference neuromodulation workshop again was a great success in 2019. The foundation and growth of the course over the years cannot go without recognition of the course directors emeriti David Provenzano, MD; Jason Pope, MD; and Steven Falowski, MD, who continue to provide invaluable mentorship and guidance.

Michael Fishman, MD MBA, is an interventional pain specialist at the Center for Interventional Pain and Spine. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, and subsequently completed an internship in general surgery at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynewood, PA.

First and foremost, I am honored to invite you to the 14th World Congress of the International Neuromodulation Society: Neuromodulation Leading a Global Medical Revolution.

We wanted to provide you with an update from the NANS Advocacy and Policy Committee regarding an update in spinal cord stimulation (SCS) coverage for workers’ compensation cases in New York.

The active membership and contributions of the Women in Neuromodulation (WIN) section of NANS continues to burgeon.

2018 was a very busy year for the members of the Education Committee. Dr. Ahmed Raslan assumed the position of chair from Dr. Konstatin Slavin and continued to build upon the exceptional foundation laid under his supervision.

On April 29, 2019, the multi-society task force met with the parties of importance at the FDA to discuss issues surrounding their physician communication regarding off label intrathecal medications.
