Pain Management Best Practices during COVID-19

NANS is one of nine organizations that has endorsed new chronic pain best practice guidelines to assist those managing chronic pain patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guidelines were published in Pain Medicine.

The guidelines offer a framework for pain practitioners and institutions to balance the conflicting goals of risk mitigation for health care providers, risk mitigation for patients, conservation of resources, and access to pain management services.

Dr. Steven P. Cohen of Johns Hopkins and Dr. Friedhelm Sandbrink of the Veterans Health Administration discussed the new COVID-19 guidelines for pain management with Johns Hopkins' Dr. Shravani Durbhakula for her web show "Pain Rounds with Dr. D." Watch here.
